Demons are a race of unholy entities from Hell. Due to Hell's extramultiversal nature, demons are unaffected by different timelines.

Description

Demons, like angels, can vary wildly in physical appearance. While most are immune to mortal illnesses, some races are still at least somewhat susceptible to alien toxins. While demons can reproduce naturally, at least one race of sentient demons is incapable of sexually reproducing, and demons can also be created from the souls of very evil or powerful sinners. Sinners who become demons will gain demonic traits and a demonic appearance, although they can keep any powers they had in life. Angels who fall, whether it be forced or due to their own sin, will also become demons. Because of this, demons can resemble almost every mortal and immortal species. Demons are known to have many traits and abilities above that of humans and other mortals, including strength, durability, and most notably their ability of flight, which is achieved through wing-based graviton control matrices and not sheer wing power, which would be too little to lift their bodies. Demons are able to sense and perceive energies and other stimuli that most mortals can't detect, such as Holy Energy. They can also utilize the Unholy Energy within their bodies to create hellfire or energy constructs, blasts, and auras, as well as channel in ambient Unholy Energy from both the environment and a direct connection to the Flow, although the latter tends to drain their strength. Demonic power within the Multiverse is often linked to the unholy side of the Flow, and thus, destabilization in the Flow can affect them. When powered up by strong amounts of Unholy Energy, demons are known to be bathed in hellfire. Due to their Unholy physiology, holy energy, especially when discharged in intense amounts as an attack, is harmful to them. If killed, their demonic essence will reform in Hell as a whirling storm of Unholy Energy, which will eventually condense back into a corporeal body, allowing the demon to be reborn, sometimes stronger, and sometimes with a memory loss. This process could take a few decades to billions of years. This appears to follow similar rules as the angelic rebirth process, for reasons unknown, potentially designed by Hell itself, absorbing the last pieces of angelic essence from the falling Lucifer and twisting it around. Their physical corpse can be revived by unholy energy with their soul still in it if they are revived shortly after death, although normally, their corpses can be reanimated through cybernetics or other means, but will deteriorate into skeletal forms if done. The same way angels can fall, demons can ascend if they reject Hell and its doctrines and accept a righteous path, but the process can only be completed by a boost of angelic essence, which can be freely emitted by an angel who is willing or replicated through angelic technology. In contrast to angels, demons have numerous sentient humanoid races, most of whom have names that are mere conjectures. These races include Reds, Bat Demons, Goat Demons, Bull Demons, Crow Demons, Sloth Demons, Dragon Demons, Pig Demons, Hound Demons, Lust Demons, Shadow Demons, Pain Demons, Psychic Demons, Magma Demons, Mole Demons, Rock Demons, Striders, and Fallen Angels. The Bulls, Sloths, Dragons, Pigs, Lust Demons, and Crow Demons are known to be the races that represent Wrath, Sloth, Pride, Gluttony, Lust, and Greed respectively, with Envy being unknown. The most commonly seen race of demons are simply referred to as Reds, resembling red-skinned horned humans with black eyes and white pupils, along with black feathered wings. A sub-race of this group is known to have reddish bat-like wings instead, and another sub-race has insectoid wings instead, but otherwise have no differences. Adult reds have a wingspan of about 6-7'. Natural-born reds have wings that grow with them. Demonic races with animal-like names resemble the animals they are named after, and can rarely achieve flight. Some have unique traits, such as the Bulls' near-indestructibility, although this does not render them undefeatable. Striders are tall, flightless humanoids with their lower legs covered by a rock-like armored shell, who consume lava for sustenance. Magma demons, resembling bulky featureless humanoids made of rock, while displaying some level of intelligence, are often classified as non-sentients. Fallen Angels are known to have grey skin and the ability to make non-demonic objects deteriorate. Psychic Demons are poor at physical combat, but excel in psychic abilities, bearing purple skin and a third eye in their forehead, along with four large horns and a spike-tipped tail. Shadow demons are the most numerous demon type, often lacking legs and high intelligence. Lust Demons are predominantly female, and have minor shapeshifting abilities, along with tendrils in place of wings, which are used as mass reserves for shapeshifting. Pain Demons are tall, grotesque abominations, bearing a mouth in their chest, a mouth making up their entire face, and cybernetic-like tools on their fingers. Pain Demons are among the strongest demonic races in existence, and often have tumorous growths that grow more mouths and eyes. Non-humanoid demonic races include Watching Ones, who resemble massive sunflower starfish with many eyes and mouths around a central cyclopedic eye, feeding off of minerals in Hell's ceiling, and Skinwalkers, a race of formless possession demons that were once one entity. Some demons do not appear to belong to any known race, such as a metal-like demon, and the demon lord Cereb, who resembles a giant brain with many eyes. Others, such as Legion, are the only member of their race to become sentient. Demon lords, unlike archangels, are not a single race with members from other races in their ranks, but rather, they are entirely a collection of members from different races who ascended to that level. Demon lords still resemble their race of origin, but often gain some new physical traits, along with increased power. Legion was known to rival the power of Slayer, able to hurl planets and moons at him during their early battles, and is the only demon to date to be able to assimilate other demons into his composite body. Satan, being the first naturally-created demon, appears to be the embodiment of evil, and does not belong to any other race. All demonic races appear to be heavily resistant to, if not completely immune to, lava, fire, and other forms of extreme heat, although energies held behind heat, such as energy weapons or even some forms of hellfire, can still damage them.
